 It is very crucial this specific area is free of dents because the oil pickup tube sits only 1-2mm's from the bottom of the pan. In this picture, it obviously shows a good sized dent right in this area of interest. Any dent here can and may cause a substantial difference in oil pressure, leading to premature bearing failure...among other things.
